In the NECK of time

Got neck issues? Esther does. So if you don’t want something to hide and do not have an overwhelming desire to wear a ribbon on your neck forever & ever, listen up homegirl!

When your neck is the issue now is the time. A person’s unkempt neck tells the story of the ravages of time much like the rings on a tree trunk (Eeew!). Ordinary face creams may not be the best option for your neck because they might be too rich or contain exfoliants or irritants that cause breakouts, redness and all sorts of irritation, so your best bet is still a formula specially formulated for the skin on the neck area.

The neck has one of the most fragile and thinnest layers of skin in our body and it’s also easily the most neglected. ReVive, a pioneering brand known for its use of the skin regeneration accelerant, Epidermal Growth Factor or EGF, has used that same ingredient in its Fermitif Neck Renewal Cream to correct and protect your neck from fine lines, sagging and spots. Ideal for both day and night use it’s conveniently fortified with a broad spectrum SPF15 sunscreen so it shields and prevents further damage while repairing the delicate skin in your neck.

At night you may opt to use a neck cream with a potent yet gentle exfoliant as it will assist in your own skin’s reparative process as you sleep.

Wake up to better skin on your neck & décolletage with the V-Zone Neck Cream from Dr. Brandt, which has vitamin C & glycolic acid to restore skin to a silkier & softer appearance.

The recently launched L’Oreal Revitalift Face Contours & Neck Cream is also a very good option for night use, as it has the exfoliant Pro-Retinol A, which is perfect for night use as it may degrade and become less effective with exposure to sunlight. This product also has the added benefit of re-contouring the face especially sagging around the jaw line.

If you have some serious existing damage though and this may occur even in your twenties just look at Britney Spears, who suffers from what I call a premature case of the “Michelin Man”-neck , opt for the very potent and editor fave Euoko Fractional Neck Lift Concentrate. Currently unavailable in SG and with a waiting list that rivals that of a Hermes handbag, this lightweight cream has 17 active ingredients & peptides including a corrective agent based on iron crystals discovered in Mars (yes, the planet not the candy bar). This out of this world formula will definitely bend (space and) time for your neck and décolleté fighting sagginess, surface irregularities, horizontal wrinkles and unbalanced adipose distribution. Could somebody please get Britney on the waiting list already?

So don’t treat your neck like an unwanted orphan and start giving it the tender loving care it deserves now…before it turns into all sorts of “nasty”. Boo!

All products are available on the web and also in L’oreal counters islandwide, Dr. Brandt at Metro Paragon, Sccube the Apothecary and soon at Sephora Takashimaya Shopping Center.
