How to look like…URSULA the Sea Witch
Now I may not agree that Lady Gaga inspired the fall couture shows but I’m fully convinced that another (voice-stealing) drag queen-like songstress, Ursula from “The Little Mermaid”, has inspired several celebrity looks of late. Just look at Beth Ditto, who at the recent launch of her own clothing line, looked like the spitting image of the fabulous cartoon villainess- she even got the girth and menacing attitude right.

Wingtip eyeliner, a hodgepodge of bright eye shadow, statement lips and hell raiser high hair has been seen all over the runway shows of Chanel, Gaultier & Dior and most evidently in Marc Jacobs Fall ‘09, where the team of legendary makeup artiste Francois Nars and hairstylist Guido Palau went all out Ursula.
Hair: Philip B Self Adjusting Hairspray- a versatile hairspray that gives you the option of getting a soft, medium or strong hold, protects and conditions so not only do you get hair height, you also get hair support.
Eyeliner: For a flawless wingtip, dot as near the lash line as possible slowly slanting upwards towards the end of the eye, then make like a preschooler and connect the dots with Shu Uemura Painting Gel Liner in Black. Perfect for lining and while wet it’s smudge-able for an “I-partied-all-night-and-I-still- look-hot” look.

Lips: To distinguish yourself from the schools of women sporting red lipstick these days, opt for a matte-lip color such as NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red.
Body: Lastly, imitating Ursula should only be done from the face up, there is no need for you to have the body of a blubbery, half-octopus woman so apply Rodial Tummy Tuck ($270, SCCUBE The Apothecary), a fat-dissolving and skin tightening miracle lotion, twice a day for body that is more mermaid and less Beth Ditto monster (Insider Tip: This is also perfect for the arms and even the legs & I’ve lost 4cm in a month of religious use, so I’d gladly pimp it out).
